Beginning Quilting 102
If you've taken our Beginning Quilting 101 Class and are wondering what is next or you've made a quilt or 2 but would like some help on next steps and better practices, then this is the class for you. Before taking this class, you should already have basic cutting skills with a rotary cutter and also know how to sew an accurate 1/4" seam allowance. We will be focusing on improving these skills and also how to properly measure for and add a border to your quilt. As well as preparing your quilt to be sent out to a long-arm quilter. Full Supply List will be sent out prior to class start.

English Paper Piecing 101 with Jaki
Jaki is our resident pro on English Paper Piecing. If you've been thinking about giving this slow-sewing quilting method a try, this is a great opportunity to learn hands-on with an expert! So give it a try and make an English Paper-Pieced pin cushion while you learn all the basics of EPP. We have plans for some up-coming larger-scale EPP projects and this class is the first step towards being ready to jump into one of those with us. Included in the class fee is an EPP Starter kit that includes everything you need to get started and that you will be using in the class and for projects afterwards. Kit fee is $45 of the total class fee.

Stitch School for Kids and Teens with Kate - Introductory Class
During this two-hour class, students will learn all about their sewing machine. They will understand how to set up their machine and then use it to sew. During the class, they will use their skills to make a drawstring bag from a fabric they choose, which is included in the class fee. This is the first step for the classes in our continual kid’s sewing program “Stitch School”. Students who want to sign up for that must take this introductory class first. Parents, please plan to join us for the last 10 minutes of this class for our “Stitch School” orientation, a sewing program using curriculum from “Sewciety Kids,” a four level, comprehensive program curriculum. We will cover how “Stitch School” works, what our Basic Sewing Kit contains, and all about what kids will learn to make! Sewing machine needed for this class - if you do not have one, please let us know and one can be rented for $5. All other supplies and tools are included for this class in the class fee.

Hand Embroidery 101 with Kate
Join us to learn a handful of basic stitches for this embroidery sampler! We’ll be going over different stitches while embellishing fabric. This class is perfect for beginners, or those who have embroidered in the past and need a refresher on the basic stitches. A kit is included in the class fee. Kit contains 5 colors of embroidery floss and 1 fat quarter of Anna Maria Textiles fabric as shown in class picture. You will need to bring a small pair of sharp scissors/snips, an embroidery hoop, embroidery needles and, if desired, an embroidery needle threader (all available for purchase separately).

Have you ever wanted to make a quilted jacket? Then this class is for you! This class combines the quilting world with the apparel world. In this class we will make a jacket from start to finish. We will learn basic dressmaking skills and combine them with quilting. You will learn how to determine your size, pick your quilt design, adjust the pattern if necessary. Your piecing and quilting skills will be the first step. Putting it all together, learning to layout the pattern and cut, assemble , bind and make buttonholes. This class is open to experienced as well as beginning quilters. Full supply list will be sent out prior to the first class. Laura Jacket Pattern (included in class fee) will be available for you to pick up at the first class. The pattern is available for sizes XS - XL OR XL - 6X (keep in mind that the pattern sizing runs small and you may want to size up one or two sizes from what you normally wear) and we will help you determine what size jacket you want to make at the first class. This particular class is for those who want to piece a quilt to make their jacket from. We will be offering this jacket in a separate class in the future for those who want to make it from a quilt they already have pieced and quilted.

Visible Mending Class with Kate
Give your well loved clothes a second life in this creative visible mending class for adults. We’ll explore decorative hand stitching techniques that turn worn spots, holes, and stains into intentional design features. This class is less about “fixing it perfectly” and learning how to embrace texture, color, and design while slow stitching. You’ll learn simple mending methods, experiment with embroidery style stitches, and leave with new skills and inspiration from those learning alongside you. It’s time for a fresh perspective on reviving the clothes you have loved well! A little kit is included in the class including denim to practice on and different types of threads to experiment with!

This is a very detailed workshop on all that the Stripology Rulers can do for you. You will learn on all four rulers and how to transform your quilting journey making it fast, accurate and most of all FUN! Take the frustration out of some common quilting mistakes. You will learn how to cut strips, squares, diamonds and triangles. You will learn easier techniques for half square and quarter square triangles and combination units, how to use some of the GEasy accessories and how to square up all your blocks. You must have at least one ruler and the book. The last hour of the class we will take some of what we learned and make a table topper!! A complete supply list will be sent out prior to class.

In this class, you will learn measuring and sizing, some basic dressmaking skills like button holes and finishing seams, and how to cut out a pattern. It will be broken up into two sessions: The first class is informational and determining the size, and how to cut out your pieces. You will bring the pieces to the second class and away we go! We love these little machines and there are so many new owners of these little machines that we're making a special class just for you! Let's roll up our sleeves and learn the basics of caring for these vintage beauties. Topics covered include: threading your machine, changing the lightbulb and basic maintenance including oiling and adding motor/gear grease. But please also bring your questions! A supply list will be sent out prior to the class. Please Note: This is not a repair class! If your machine is having more than just basic maintenance issues, we can take a look at it but you may need to schedule an appt with the repair technician.

We've broken this project into two classes to give you plenty of time to feel confident in your project! In class one we will talk about fabrics and the process and begin the quilt. In class two we will continue with the collage process and learn how to complete and add finishing details as well as how to quilt it. These are super cute to hang in your home as a tribute to your own cat or dog.
