Sewing Techniques with Sharon
This series of classes uses a sewing machine designed to build solid sewing skills to use in garment construction or any type of sewing. As a series, it begins with basic techniques that are sampled in muslin. A handout is provided to make notes and keep for future reference.
Class one:
Seams:right side/wrong side, measuring, marking, pressing
Seam finishes: Pinked edge with staystitching, Clean Finish, French Seam, Flat-felled, Topstitched
Backstitching: beginning and ending seam
Staystitching
Pressing: with a press cloth
Class two:
Darts: straight, tapered, contour, French
Pressing
Placement
Tucks: pintucks, released tucks
Class three:
Facings: Interfaced, Bias, Self
Cutting, fusing interfacing
Understitching
